Mix and mingle
Fun and easy sequence to be used with all types of groups of people (colleagues, team mates, new team, communities, random group of people, etc.)
Goal
Get to know individuals in a meaningful way
Instructions
1. Ask people to get into pairs or trios (tell them to find someone they don't really know, or rarely interact with)
Each person shares "where I grew up (city) + what value did I took from there"
For this question, people tend to reflect on some positive memories, and often give answers such as: love of nature (as they e.g. spent a lot of time outdoors), lively family atmosphere (e.g. if they had a big family), the value of teamwork (e.g. if they practised a team sport competitively).
3. Ask people to form a new pair/trio (tell them to find someone they don't really know, or rarely interact with)
Each person shares "in which city did I go to university/school + what was the wackiest/strangest job I've ever had"
4.Ask people to form a new pair/trio (tell them to find someone they don't really know, or rarely interact with)
Each person shares "the place where I find peace + what would I want to tell the teenager that I was"
Tips for remote: Use the breakout rooms feature to create pairs/trios
