Applying existing best practices for new problems
Goal
To disseminate information about the best practices in an organisation to find creative solutions to problems which exist in other areas of the same organisation or different organisations
Materials
Instructions
1-Individuals take the markers and write down their most significant problem on a flipchart and put the paper on the wall where problems are listed to make the problem details visible to everyone. Each problem will have a unique ID.
Here are the details that need to be written:
a. What is the description of the problem?
b. Who are being impacted?
c. What is the impact?
d. What is the expected outcome?
2-Individuals write the best practices that they became part of, on a flipchart and put them on the wall where solutions are. Each best practice will have a unique ID.
Here are the details that need to be written:
a. What is the description of the best practice?
b. Who did it impact?
c. What was the impact?
d. What was the outcome achieved?
3-All individuals go through the problems and best practices and vote which of the best practices would apply to which problem at most. Each individual has 3 votes.
4. The authors of the most voted solutions talk to the authors of the corresponding problems to give them the details of the best practices and to create a new solution for the problem with them.
